In recent days, some of the most influential mathematicians and computer scientists met again in Heidelberg. There is no Nobel Prize in their subjects, but there are other highly recognized awards, and the recipients of these prizes meet regularly for the „Laureate Forum“. One of the regulars is Vint Cerf, one of the fathers of the Internet. Yesterday, he made a detour to the DAI, the German-American Institute, where Ralph Kühnl asked him about the current state of the Internet – and the Internet pioneer argued not at all technically, but from a societal perspective.
